In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Symbiote Nests are end-game combat side activities that you can tackle while playing as either Peter Parker or Miles Morales. Your goal is to use a Sonic Burst to destroy the heart of the tendril symbiote structures around the city.
Most of the nests are pretty straightforward, but there are a few exceptional cases that might throw you off. Our Spider-Man 2 walkthrough is here to guide you through these differences, ensuring that you’re fully prepared to restore order to the city.
How to Unlock Symbiote Nests in Spider-Man 2
After Peter and Miles successfully destroy their first symbiote heart during the Set Things Right main mission, you’ll notice the emergence of Symbiote Nests. These nests will initially reveal themselves in groups of five.
The remaining five will make their appearance following the completion of the It’s All Connected main mission. These nests are hard to miss, as they are massive structures made of solidified symbiote mass.

Where To Find All Symbiote Nests
On the map below, you can see the exact location of each Spider-Man 2 Symbiote Nest in chronological order. As mentioned earlier, the first five nests will appear in Harlem, the Upper East Side, and Astoria districts. The remaining five nests will appear in the Upper West Side, Chinatown, Financial District, Williamsburg, and Little Odessa.

How To Complete the Symbiote Nests in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
To destroy a Symbiote Nest, plant the Sonic Burst on the symbiote heart on the ground. Check the first image below for a visual reference. Once you’ve done that, your task is to defend until the countdown timer on the left side of the screen reaches zero.
During this time, you’ll have to deal with many different symbiotes trying to destroy the Sonic Burst. Once the countdown hits zero, the Sonic Burst will activate and wipe out the heart, the tendril symbiote structure, and all the nearby symbiote.

The most effective way to clear out these Symbiote Nests is by setting the difficulty to the lowest level and making sure to equip all of your Anti-Venom abilities, especially the ones that have larger area-of-effect. This will greatly increase your chances of success and make the task much easier for you.
Most of the Symbiote Nests are pretty much the same in terms of their mechanics, but there are a couple of them that have something unique. The Symbiote Nests located in the Upper East Side (#4), Astoria (#5), and Financial District (#7) have an interesting feature – they possess two hearts!
This means that the symbiotes now have two potential targets to attack instead of just one. In these cases, it’s important to note that the Sonic Bursts seem to have more durability to compensate for the increased vulnerability.

Also, the Symbiote Nest in Little Odessa (#10) is a bit like Whack-a-Mole, with the symbiote heart that pops up and down in different spots. But don’t worry, this can actually be a good thing for you! When the heart moves, the symbiotes must find their way to its new location.

When you complete each Symbiote Nest in Spider-Man 2, not only will you earn 1200 XP and 4 Hero Tokens for upgrading, but you’ll also be rewarded with the King in Black Suit, plus the Exterminator Trophy after taking down all 10 of them.
The suit’s name is a reference to Knull, the God of Symbiotes. Knull is an incredibly powerful supervillain with god-like abilities. He is the one responsible for the creation of the Symbiotes.
