Cliffbottom Catacombs is an Elden Ring side dungeon found in the east part of the Liurnia of the Lakes region and the home of Erdtree Burial Watchdog boss. The Cliffbottom Catacombs is one of many short dungeons where you can obtain runes, valuable items, and the Kaiden Sellsword Spirit Ashes.
This dungeon, like the others in the game, is filled with imps, ogres, and traps that you must overcome to claim your rewards. Therefore, in this guide, we will show you how to reach and complete Cliffbottom Catacombs in Elden Ring.
Where to Find the Cliffbottom Catacombs
The Cliffbottom Catacombs are located east of Liurnia of the Lakes in the video game developed by FromSoftware.
The Cliffbottom Catacombs may be found by heading east until you reach a cliff. Find the safest place to jump, then descend the cliff.
Following the cliffside south on the east edge of Liurnia of the Lakes, you will find the entrance to the Cliffbottom Catacombs.
As you leave the Site of Grace and descend the steps, you will come across an elevator room; press the button to lower yourself. After leaving the elevator, the first chamber has two imps, one on the wall ahead and one to the right of the entrance, that will ambush you.
Kill the imps and loot the corpse to receive five Root Resin. This chamber is followed by a room with locked doors and two statues nearby; the doors will be unlocked by a lever discovered deep within the catacombs.
Following the path forward, you will find yourself in a square room with a stairway. As you proceed into the next tunnel, keep an eye out for the floor trap and the imp in the ceiling.
There is another imp around the corner ahead that will jump you, so be prepared. Through this tunnel, you reach a room with some steps leading up to the left side. Straight ahead, there is a sleeping ogre between the pillars.
Kill it to get to the Grave Glovewort [3] behind it. There’s a sealed door and an imp statue up the stairs, but there’s also another ogre patrolling the area and two imps ready to fire grenades at you if you draw their attention.
Lure the ogre down the steps to split the imps and the ogre for an easier fight. To open the room sealed by the Imp statue, you’ll need a Stonesword Key. Inside, you’ll find one Imp enemy and the Nox Mirrorhelm.
Behind the staircase, near the bookcase, you will find a corpse that you can loot to receive a Rune Arc. Climb up the stairs and deal with the two imps in this area; a floor trap is located just at the room’s entrance.
Also, you can pick up a Grave Glovewort [2] right in front of the entrance. Following the path out of this chamber will lead you to the space above the first stairs.
There are several Imps in this location, including three in the chamber on the left and a corpse for you to loot to receive a Scythe. After you have cleared out the area, drop down on the stairs below you and drop down once more into the room under the stairs.
Several ogres roam the halls in this catacombs section, so proceed carefully. In this room, you will also find two Grave Glovewort [3], three Hefty Beast Bones on a corpse, and the Prattling Pate “Wonderful” on another corpse. Go east from the room you dropped down into to progress. An ogre will be blocking your path, so kill it to continue.
Also, keep an eye out for the floor trap that’s right in your way. There is a ladder at the end of these tunnels; climb it to reach a chamber with some bookcases. On the left, you’ll see an ogre staring into a tomb in front of a stone statue.
Kill the ogre, and you will find the Page Ashes on the tomb. Going right will take you to the lever guarded by an imp. Also, loot the corpse near the lever to receive three Old Fangs.
Jump down the stairs and follow the pathway back to the start to enter the boss chamber. This fight is against a variant version of the Erdtree Burial Watchdog that wields a staff, casts spells, and has three heads that perform a three-headed fire-breathing attack.
When you defeat this boss, you will receive 3200 Runes and the Kaiden Sellsword Ashes. That’s everything you need to know to complete the Elden Ring Cliffbottom Catacombs.
