Elden Ring Gael Tunnel is a minor dungeon you’ll get to explore when you enter Caelid in the video game developed by  FromSoftware for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. Although relatively easy to navigate, the Elden Ring Gael Tunnel dungeon can become a bit frustrating if you don’t know the correct path you have to follow.

Nevertheless, due to the large number of crafting materials you can find inside, and because you’ll also get two unique weapons, Gael Tunnel is mandatory. So, through the following guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about Gael Tunel in Elden Ring.

Where To Find the Gael Tunnel

As you can notice on the map below, Gael Tunnel is found on the northwestern side of Caelid, close to the border between Caleid and Limgrave. South of it, you’ll find Fort Gael, which is an essential location you have to explore.

Elden Ring Gael Tunnel Location Guide

To find the Gael Tunnel entrance faster, it is recommended that you locate both Caelid Map Fragments. Then, when you are ready, head to the location marked on my map.

Although there are two entrances to the tunnel, the rear is blocked when you first approach this dungeon. If you check it out, you’ll find Alexander (provided you followed his questline and helped him in Limgrave). So, the first time you visit Gael Tunnel, you are forced to use the main entrance.

How To Navigate Gael Tunnel Dungeon

Once you get inside the first tunnel, head towards the wooden platform ahead and deal with the two soldiers, looting everything they drop. Since they are unaware of your presence, you can dispatch them quickly. While standing on the platform, destroy the crates and barrels on the left side. If you look down, you’ll see a ledge you can drop on (pictured).

Make sure you fall on the ledge, then look around to spot a small tunnel that is, in fact, a dead end. Get inside and collect the Somber Smithing Stone [2], retrace your steps, and turn left. Once more, look down to spot a small ledge with a candle on it (pictured).

Drop on it, then on the next one (also pictured), and you’ll reach the bottom. Here, you’ll want to rest at the Gael Tunnel Site of Grace. Now, head through the next tunnel ahead, and you’ll reach a larger room. Without going into details on how to defeat every enemy, the next area is relatively straightforward, and there are no surprises, hidden enemies, or traps.

The next item you’ll want to collect is near the corpse on the wooden platform. It is on the left side as you descend the stairs. Make sure you loot it to get a Golden Rune [5]. Now, follow the corridor northeast (there is a small octopus by the entrance), and you’ll get to a larger cave with a pond.

Here, you have to be aware because a giant octopus spawns the moment you enter after you kill the smaller ones. Make sure you deal with it; then, on the right side of the cave, loot the Silver Fireflies and the Smithing Stone. Upon dealing with the giant octopus, there are many items to get here, the most important being the Cross-Naginata found on a corpse on the other side of the cave.

After you clear the area, retrace your steps back to the previous cave and clear the area under the wooden platform. Now check the corpse behind the barrels to get a Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot (pictured below).

Upon clearing the cave, head west, and you’ll see a ladder you can use to descend deeper into the Gael Tunnel. Be advised that under the platform is a soldier waiting for you. Once you get down, grab the Grace Mimic on the corpse, then head south to get to another large cave with two wooden doors.

The large one leads to the boss, while the small one leads to the Rear Gael Tunnel Entrance. Make sure you unlock the small one first, and usually, here, you’ll find Alexander Iron First, but only if you saved him in Limgrave. After you unlock the small door, rest at the Rear Gael Tunnel Entrance Site of Grace, then head back to the boss area.

How To Defeat the Magma Wyrm Boss

The Elden Ring Magma Wyrm boss, although scary at first, is one of the slowest so far. As long as you stay behind the giant creature, you won’t encounter any difficulties dealing with it. Because it is slow, you can also nuke the Magma Wyrm with ranged attacks while moving around it in a circle.

As long as you remain behind it, you’ll avoid both his sword and fire-breath attacks; however, when you see the boss standing, dodge away because it slams the ground, dealing damage in a large circle. If you use ranged attacks, consider aiming for the Wyrm’s head so you can stun it.

Upon defeating the Elden Ring Magma Wyrm Boss in Gael Tunnel, you’ll receive the Moonveil Katana and a Dragon Heart you can trade at the Church Of Dragon Communion Altar.
