If you wish to invade other players in Elden Ring without limits, you will need a multiplayer item called the Bloody Finger or the Recusant Finger far later in the game. The Bloody Finger is the most helpful between the two fingers.
Completing Varre’s Quest not only allows you to invade infinitely using the Bloody Finger, but it is also one of the early ways to get to the Mohgwyn Palace, home of Mohg, the Lord of Blood, using a unique tool called Pureblood Knight’s Medal.
Mohg is one of the shard-bearing demigods you’re looking for, and while he’s an optional boss, he’s a worthy opponent for your Tarnished. Varre’s Quest for the Bloody Finger isn’t as long or as complex as those for other NPCs (for example, Ranni’s Questline), but you will have to fight other players to finish it.

Where To Find Varre in Limgrave
After the fight with the Grafted Scion at the beginning of the game, you will find White Mask Varré shortly after leaving the tutorial area in Limgrave. He stands proudly near The First Step Site of Grace, mocking you for being maidenless and useless to everyone. Exhaust all his dialogues.
After you defeat your first demigod, Godrick the Grafted, he will relocate to the Rose Church and leave a message where he was initially found. Interact with the message on the ground to obtain the “Bravo!” gesture.
Varre’s Second Location in Liurnia of the Lakes
White Mask Varré can be found in Rose Church, on a large island southwest of Liurnia of the Lakes, after defeating Godrick the Grafted.
To make him relocate to the Rose Church after you defeat Godrick the Grafted, fast travel back to The First Step Site of Grace and exhaust all his dialogues. Then make your way to the Roundtable Hold and do everything you can there, interacting with as many NPCs as you can. You will find White Mask Varré on the church’s north side.
How To Obtain the Bloody Finger
After reaching the Rose Church, find White Mask Varré and speak to him. When he asks what you think of the Two Fingers, say, “Two Fingers seemed off.” Varré will be happy with your answer and gift you five Festering Bloody Fingers.
Invade three times in any area you want with the Festering Bloody Fingers Varré gave you. You don’t have to win the invasions; just finish them. After you complete the three invasions, return to Varré, and he will be pleased with you. He will ask if you want to be anointed, and you should answer with “Anoint me.”
He will give you the Lord of Blood’s Favor for your final trial: to soak the cloth with a maiden’s blood. There are a few candidates in the Lands Between for the maiden’s blood. The easiest way to acquire it is at the maiden corpse located in the Church of Inhibition, which is found in the most northern part of Liurnia’s eastern landmass.
The prompt will let you dye the cloth with the maiden’s blood. Return to the Rose Church with the Lord of Blood’s Favor soaked in the maiden’s blood and speak with Varré. He will congratulate you once more and ask to see your finger.
A prompt, “Offer finger,” will appear, allowing Varré to see the said finger. He will inflict great pain on your Tarnished while also awarding the Bloody Finger to you.
Speak with him one more time, and he will offer you one more thing besides the Bloody Finger: the Pureblood Knight’s Medal, a usable item that will take you directly to Mohgwyn Palace, home of Mohg, the Lord of Blood.
