Elden Ring Royal House Scroll is a key item that is essential for spellcasters, even though it may look insignificant at first. That’s because the Elden Ring Royal Scroll allows spellcasters to unlock more spells for a price, of course.
What makes the Royal House Scroll in Elden Ring a bit tricky, though, is that you can’t use it per se since it doesn’t belong to you. It’s very similar to the Assassin’s Prayerbook. So, the obvious question here is how to use the Royal House Scroll in Elden Ring.
Where To Find the Royal House Scroll
The Royal House Scroll in Elden Ring is found on top of some ruins in southern Limgrave, just before crossing the Bridge of Sacrifice towards the Weeping Peninsula. The said ruins are east of Agheel Lake South Site of Grace, as you can see on my map below.
Before heading there, if you wish to track down this item early in the game, you should consider finding all Limgrave Map Fragments. After you get there, be advised that there are several soldiers you may want to deal with, as well as two spellcasters on the ruins close to the camp.
Assuming you already cleared the camp, head to the ruin on the northeastern side, and you’ll find a corpse on the edge of the old building.
Loot the corpse, and you’ll obtain the Royal House Scroll. The most important question is how to use the Elden Ring House Scroll.
How To Use Sellen’s Royal House Scroll
As said, the Royal House Scroll belongs to an NPC named Sellen, and to use it properly, you’ll have to return it. If you check this item in your inventory, you’ll get the following details:
“Sorcery scroll of the Carian royal family, the heads of the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Can be given to a learned sorcerer to gain access to the following sorceries: Glintblade Phalanx, Carian Slicer.”
Obviously, you may wonder where to find the learned sorcerer. Well, the answer is inside the Waypoint Ruins Cellar. So, after you get the Scroll, head north, and at the location marked on my map, you’ll find the Waypoint Ruins.
Get inside the cellar, and behind the mist gate, you’ll find a Mad Pumpkin Head. Defeating this boss is mandatory, but he’s relatively weak. Once you do this, activate the Waypoint Ruins Cellar Site of Grace, then look around for a door you can open. It should be on the southern wall in the cellar. Behind it, you’ll find Sorceress Sellen.
Talk to Sorceress Sellen twice and agree to learn sorcery, then you’ll receive the Nod In Thought gesture. Now, when interacting with Sorceress Sellen, you’ll have the option to give her the Royal House Scroll. By doing so, you’ll unlock the Glintblade Phalanx and Carian Slicer spells in her inventory.
As you can guess, to learn them, you’ll need Runes, but at least now you know how to use the Elden Ring Royal House Scroll Key Item in FromSoftware’s game. The next set of spells is unlocked when you find the Academy Scroll in Liurnia.
