In the starting region of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, there is a handful of collectibles you can grab the moment you start the game, but one, in particular, is trickier than the rest. And this collectible is a Carbon Ingot that can be found on the island’s western side, where your adventure begins.

As you’ll soon find out, the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Carbon Ingots count as collectibles, and some of them are a pain. By that, I mean you’ll have to use your imagination to find them, including the Hoettrstrand Carbon Ingot, which we will cover below.

The thing about this Wealth Collectible is that it can be pretty confusing since you’ll have to get it early in the game. And because of this, you may get stuck trying to get close to it. So let’s see why that is and what you have to do.

The Ingot in question is located in the restricted area known as Hoettrstrand. It is on the west side of the small island where Eivor begins his amazing adventure. You can see it on the map below, and you should try visiting this location during the first quest.

There are only a few guards here, and they are rather stupid, so you won’t have to fight too much. Make sure you dispatch them. Remember, there are other collectibles here, but we will refer to the trickiest.

How To Get the Hoettrstrand Mountain Wealth in Rygjafylke

Good, so when you approach the area, you’ll be able to see the mountain below in the distance.

On top of it (or close to its peak), you can see the collectible. Or the Hoettrstrand Carbon Ingot you’ll need to get. The problem here is that Eivor can’t climb on ice. Silly right? So, approach the mountain, and you should see a wooden platform.

Hop on it and keep following the platforms until you notice that you’ll start to ascend. On your way, you’ll have to jump on a boat sail. Keep going around the mountain, and eventually, you’ll reach a dead end. By the dead end, I mean that your path will be blocked by ice. But on the right side, you should see a clear mountain wall (without ice), just as you can see in my screenshot.

Climb on it, go left, then bang! Another dead end. The good thing is that there is a fire here. The best thing, though, is the arrows close to it. Grab some, then turn around and look up to spot a ladder. And here comes the trick with this Assassin’s Creed Valhalla collectible. The ladder has been retracted, and you need to shoot the lock on it.

So do that, and the path toward your prize is clear. Loot the chest, and you’re done with this Hoettrstrand Wealth, but remember this trick because you’ll have to use it a lot in the next areas of the video game developed by Ubisoft.
