In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Sten is a desperate and sad Vikingr you’ll meet in the Oxenefordscire region. His story is one of the saddest I have played so far. Luckily, it is also one of the shortest. This World Event must be completed to get 100% completion in Oxenefordscire, so in the guide below, we’ll talk about Sten and how to help him. Because you see, Sten has an unusual problem.
AC Valhalla Permission To Weep World Event Location
As you can see on my map below, Sten is close to the northeastern border of Oxenefordscire, just northeast of The Corpse Feeders Alpha Animal.
You can’t miss this guy because when you get close to the location I have marked above, you’ll see a large fire, and you should also hear him yelling. As I said, he is truly desperate. Talk to him, and Sten will reveal that he lost everything.
Meaning that he lost his raiding crew, which you can spot in the fire. All of them. On top of that, Sten also lost his family back in Norway. Sten’s family has been killed by the plague, and there are several notes you can read. Make sure you check the barn for the First Letter From Sten’s Nighbor, who announces to our mighty Vikingr that his family died, except for Hilga.
In the house, you can find the Second Letter From Sten’s Neighbor, who brings even more bad news. Hilga died as well. A bit too much if you ask me. So, your goal here is to make Sten weep, and you have two choices.
How To Make Sten Weep
As you can guess, both choices you get after talking to Sten will help you finish this World Event, but not both are correct from a moral point of view. You can see Sten’s dialogue choices below.
If you pay close attention to the dialogue, Sten clearly says he wants your permission to weep. So, the correct choice is “I give you permission.” For this one, though, you’ll need three charisma. If you completed the Flyting Duels, then you can pick this one.
The second choice is to fight the Vikingr and pick “Relieve your anger, fight me!” It will help you finish the mystery, but consider that Sten is already devastated, so humiliating him in a duel is too much, no matter how brave he is. Again, these choices don’t have a long-term effect on the game’s story. So, you are free to pick the one you see fit.
