Although there are no good or bad Assassin’s Creed Valhalla choices, the video game developed by Ubisoft features some key moments that will affect how events unfold, and one of these moments (the first one) occurs at the end of The Seas Of Fate quest; which is the final quest in Norway.
Once you complete The Seas Of Fate main quest, Eivor will travel to England, but before doing that, you’ll need to make a choice when Sigurd asks you. This choice refers to the resources you can take with you to England at the end of the first story arc.
As said, you can’t pick between good or bad because both choices are good in one way or another. But depending on what you choose to answer when Sigurd asks you what to do with the resources will have a long-term effect on how the game continues. And will also affect the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla ending.
What Happens if You Take the Resources to England
Taking the resources to England is the first choice you have during the cutscene that plays at the end of The Seas Of Fate. This choice affects the number of resources you’ll get at the end of the quest, and these resources are pretty important because they’ll help you build your settlement faster.
If you do this, however, Sigurd will consider your choice a dishonorable one. He clearly tells Eivor that the resources belong to his father as fair compensation. Obviously, Eivor is also right in some way, but Sigurd will not accept it, and if you decide to take the resources, this action will count as a strike against his will.
The idea behind these strikes is fairly simple. The more you get, the bigger the chance is for Sigurd to return to England at the end of the game. On the other hand, if you don’t go against him, he will stay with you in England at the end of the story. And this is something you may want to think about.
What Happens if You Leave the Resources to Styrbjorn
If you decide to leave the resource or the cargo in Norway “as fair compensation,” then you’ll start with fewer resources. Thus, your settlement will grow slower. Sigurd will see this as an honorable choice, and you’ll avoid the strike mentioned above. Obviously, the chances for him to leave England at the end of the game will be smaller, and he will stay with you.
Since we can’t talk about a “good” or “bad” choice, let’s approach this from a different angle—the smartest choice. Well, as hard as it will sound, leaving the cargo behind is the smartest choice for this quest, and here is why.
First, resources are abundant in England, and you can get them easily when completing raids. But Sigurd’s strike matters during the game, and you don’t want to trade his opinion about Eivor for something that you’ll get sooner or later.
On top of that, there are other choices that are way harder than this one, and the strike you may get now (for something that you can earn by playing the game) will play an important role. So, obviously, you want to save this one for later.
Make sure you pay close attention to this choice, especially if you wish to play the role of an honorable Viking at the end of the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Seas Of Fate quest. Another important Quest Choice you should learn about is at the end of the Stench of Treachery quest.
