Hogwarts Legacy Beasts Class Quest Walkthrough

Beasts Class is one of the cutest Hogwarts Legacy main quests in the video game inspired by Harry Potter because it unlocks a new feature that will eventually help you breed various Beasts. The Beasts Class main quest in Hogwarts Legacy also grants access to the Beast Petting Brush and the Beast Feed Utility Spells, which you can later use to take care of all your Beasts.

Additionally, you’ll receive 260 XP for finishing this story quest and getting to meet a new key character named Poppy. The Beasts Class, where the quest begins, is found outside Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

If you haven’t unlocked the Beasts Classroom, open your map and select The Belltower Wing from the list of available Floo Flames. Next, fast-travel to the closest Floo Flame you have unlocked; then, while tracking the Beast Class quests, follow the marker on your minimap.

Remember that the Beasts Class story quest is one of the three main quests you’ll unlock upon finishing Percival Rackham’s Trial. The other two are The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament and The Helm of Uktkot.

Upon arriving at the classroom, you’ll meet Professor Howin, who wishes to remind her students how to take care of the many beasts featured in Hogwarts Legacy. Professor Howin will ask Poppy Sweeting to help her with the lesson, and Poppy wants to show you how to tend a Puffskein.

How To Brush and Feed a Puffskein

To Brush a Puffskein, you need to use the Beast Petting Brush, which acts as a spell, meaning you’ll want to equip it first. To do this, press Right on your DPad and equip the Beast Petting Brush by holding down R2/RT and one of the casting buttons.

After you equip the Brush, simply cast the spell by holding down R2/RT and the button you have assigned.

Great job! Now that you brushed the little Puffskein, it’s time to feed the cute beast. After the Beast Feed Spell unlocks, you’ll have to equip it. Press Right on your DPad again, and equip the Beast Feed in another slot without replacing the Beast Brush because you’ll have to use it again later.

Now cast the Beast Feed Spell and watch how the Puffskein enjoys the snacks. After feeding and brushing the Puffskein, it’s time to deal with larger beasts, such as the Kneazle.

How To Feed and Brush a Kneazle

As you approach the pens with Poppy, you’ll witness an interesting scene in which a Slytherin Student tries to remove the whiskers from a Kneazle. After saving the poor Kneazle, it’s time to take care of the cat-like beast.

Again, you’ll have to use both the Beast Brush and Beast Feed Spells you equipped earlier while targeting a Kneazle.

Upon completing both tasks, the class is over, but Professor Howin would like to know if you enjoyed it. Talk to her and pick any answer you want when asked how you found your first beasts lesson because your choice won’t affect the story.

Now, the lesson is finally over, but Poppy has one secret to share with you. Or something to show you. Talk to her by the Kneazles pen nearby, and she’ll tell you she wants you to meet someone. Answer however you want, as she’ll still take you to the forest.

Brushing and Feeding Highwing

For the next objective, you’ll have to follow Poppy Sweeting. Stay close to her, and if you get lost, press Up on your Dpad to summon the golden whisps that will eventually take you back to her location.

When the walk ends, you’ll finally see the majestic creature Poppy wants to introduce. Yes, it’s a Hippogriff, just like Buckbeak. From Harry Potter, you may remember that Hippogriffs require special courtesy. And the first step is to bow.

To bow, pull the Right Thumbstick towards you, and Highwing will notice your gesture. Now, feel free to feed and brush her by casting the two spells you used earlier. After Highwing departs, Poppy will ask you what you think about the creature. Your answer, again, will not affect the upcoming events.

Finally, Poppy will tell you how she found Highwing and what she thinks about the Poachers roaming around the school. All the dialogue choices that follow during the last conversation don’t play any role in the story. When Poppy leaves, the Hogwarts Legacy Beasts Class quest ends, and you can continue the story.
