The Gilded Perch Collection Chest is a well-hidden Hogwarts Legacy collectible you can obtain while or after completing the A Bird In The Hand relationship quest. This means you have to progress with the main story quite a lot because the A Bird In Hand quest becomes available toward the end of the game.
However, if you are a completionist, nothing will stand in your way of getting the Gilded Perch collectible, part of the 15 Hogwarts Valley Collection Chests.
Where To Find the Gilded Perch Collection Chest in Hogwarts Legacy
On the following Hogwarts Valley map, we’ve marked The Gilded Perch dungeon, where the Collection Chest is located. As you can see, you have to go to the northeastern corner of the region south of Hogwarts Castle.
Specifically, southeast of the Brocburrow hamlet, which has a Floo Flame you can use to fast travel, provided you have it unlocked. If you reach the entrance to The Gilded Perch for the first time while completing Poopy’s relationship quest, you need to unlock the door blocking your progress by solving the Moonstone puzzle.
For more details on how to solve the puzzle, refer to our A Bird In The Hand quest walkthrough. Once you open the door, you can head inside the dungeon to look for the Collection Chest.
Now that you are inside the dungeon move a couple of meters forward, then head to the left to reach a larger room with a big arcade. Next, you need to look to the right of the arcade to spot a crate with a handle on top of the blue wall.
Position the crate in front of the blue wall using Wingardium Leviosa, learned after completing Professor Garlick’s Assignment 1. Then, use Levioso on the same crate to make it float so you can use it to climb to the top of the blue wall. Levioso is learned during the Defence Against the Dark Arts main quest. You’ll find the Collection Chest next to some hay bales following the balcony to the southwest.
