Welcome To Hogwarts is the second Hogwarts Legacy main quest youβll have to complete in the video game developed by Avalanche Software,Β and it continues your story as aΒ fifth-year student at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Upon choosing your House at the end of the previous quest, named The Path To Hogwarts, youβll end up in the Common Room, guided by Professor Weasley.
Now that you have reached Hogwarts, itβs time to familiarize yourself with the impressive Castle and unlock new features.
But, first things first. Letβs meet some of your colleagues! As you remember from the previous walkthrough, we have picked the Gryffindor House, so as part of our Welcome To Hogwarts guide below, weβll go over the objectives youβll need to complete as a Gryffindor House member. Hogwarts Legacy Welcome To Hogwarts quest begins when you reach the dormitory, and your first task is getting to the Common Room.
Where To Find Your Common Room
After starting the quest, feel free to explore the dormitory, although you should know that there are no important items to be found. Once you are done, exit the dormitory, then follow the stairs on the left side. As you move up the stairs, youβll notice a moving armor. Go past it and descend the stairs on the left, as pictured below.

While descending the stairs, look around at the moving paintings. At the bottom of the stairs, youβll find a Collection Chest with a Level 1 Lock. Since you just started, you wonβt be able to unlock it right now, so feel free to ignore it and enter the Common Room, where you should see many students just like you. Now, you should see that your objective has changed, and you must introduce yourself to the following students:
- Cressida
- Gareth
- Nellie
Letβs approach these NPCs one by one.
Where To Find Cressida
Cressida is found on the left side of the Common Room the moment you enter. From the door, turn left, and you should see her behind a table.

As you get close to Cressida Blume, youβll see her practicing non-verbal spells. Approach her, and sheβll ask you if you are Figβs protege. It is worth knowing that your answer during your dialogue with Cressida will not change the upcoming events, but there is no need to brag. So tell her that you studied with him.
As the dialogue continues, youβll get to ask Cressida about non-verbal spells. Again, the dialogue choices will not affect the story, so use them to learn more about this NPC and the magic she tries to learn.
Where To Find Garreth
When you are done, head back to the front door, and youβll see Garreth Weasley by the window.

When talking to him, heβll tell you that he is the nephew of Matilda Weasley, the current Deputy Headmistress you met during the first quest. Again, the dialogue choices are not important for the story, but theyβll help you connect with this NPC.
Where To Find Nellie
Finally, the last NPC youβll have to meet is Nellie Oggspire. If you look around, you can spot her playing above the fireplace.

Like the previous two NPCs, Nellie has an exciting story, and sheβs pretty proud that she managed to reach the Gryffindor Tower from outside without a broom. Sheβs adventurous and seems interested in the dragon you have faced more than anything.
While talking to her, feel free to provide any answers you want. Now that you have met some of your House members, youβll be asked to meet Professor Weasley outside the Common Room. To exit the Gryffindor Common Room in Hogwarts Legacy, head through the tunnel. Outside, youβll find Garrethβs aunt waiting for you.
Upon meeting Professor Weasley, sheβll hand over your Wizardβs Field Guide, which is, in fact, your journal. You wonβt be able to access it yet, so stay close to Professor Weasley and follow her while she explains the basics. Eventually, sheβll take you to the lower floor and stop in front of a funny painting depicting a bull standing on a wizard.
How To Collect The Guide Page
While in front of the painting pictured below, Professor Weasley will introduce the Hogwarts Legacy Field Guide Pages. These are hidden collectibles that youβll find scattered around the world; however, you wonβt be able to see them unless you see the Revelio Spell.

To collect the Guide Page in Welcome To Hogwarts, press Left on your DPad, then interact with it. Great job! You just found your first Hogwarts Legacy Collectible, but there are more waiting for you, and all of them are revealed as part of our Wiki Hub here.
For now, familiarize yourself with the Field Guide and what it has to offer, and when you are ready, follow Professor Weasley. The next stop will be at the end of the corridor nearby, where youβll learn how Floo Flames work. Basically, the Hogwarts Legacy Floo Flames are fast travel points that allow you to move from one area to another quickly. To use them, though, they must be unlocked by getting close to them.
In Welcome To Hogwarts, youβll automatically unlock two of them. The first one is the Faculty Tower Floo Flame next to you. The second one is the Central Hall Floo Flame, which is your next destination. So, to progress the quest, select the Central Hall Floo Flame, then press Square/X to fast-travel to the next location.

Once you reach the Hogwarts Central Hall, follow Professor Weasley downstairs, and sheβll tell you what you have to do next. Sheβll also ask you about your adventure with Fig, but your answer is not important for the story. If you want to play safe, reply with, βIβm afraid there isnβt.β
After Fig appears, Professor Weasley will depart, and the current quest is almost over. All thatβs left to do is to talk to Professor Fig, standing next to you, and heβll tell you that you should focus on your classes while he continues his investigation.
If you open your map, youβll notice that two new main quests are available: Charms Class and Defence Against the Dark Arts Class. Now, the Hogwarts Legacy Welcome to Hogwarts quest is complete, and youβll receive 260 XP as a reward. To progress, pick any of the two quests outlined above and follow our walkthroughs if you need help.
