Hogwarts Legacy Follow The Butterflies Hidden Chest Location

Follow The Butterflies is a Hogwarts Legacy side quest you can complete to help Clementine Willardsey, who is curious to know where the insects are going in the forest. You’ll not go unrewarded for your effort because, besides the fact that you get to assist someone in need, you also receive 180 XP and a Flower Box.

It’s important to know that you can start this side quest only after completing the Potions Class main quest. After that, open your Hogsmeade map and zoom in until you can see the quest icon in the middle of the village; you have the exact location marked on the following map.

Then select the icon and press X (PlayStation) to set a waypoint. As you are about to see, you must enter the big building at the said location and look for the quest giver, Clementine Willardsey, near the bar, next to a couple of brooms.

Now speak with Clementine to start the Hogwarts Legacy Follow The Butterflies side quest.

Where To Find the Butterflies in the Forbidden Forest

As you can see, your objective is to go to the Forbidden Forest and find the butterflies Clementine is talking about. If you open your map, you should see the Follow Butterflies quest tracker taking you to the south side of the forest, north of Hogwarts Castle, right near the Forbidden Forest Floo Flame, which you can use to fast travel there if you have it unlocked.

Once you get close to the marker, a butterfly icon should appear on your mini-map in the bottom left corner of your screen. Go to the butterfly icon, and you should see a bunch of insects flying around, just like in the image below.

How To Find Out Where the Butterflies Are Going

Now, the insects will move north, and you must follow them. If they get out of sight, look for the butterfly icon in the purple area of your mini-map. You’ll see that the insects have stopped at the northeastern edge of the purple area. After catching up with the insects, you must open the chest they are flying around. All that is left to do now is to return to Clementine Willardsey and talk to her.
