Hogwarts Legacy South Hogwarts Region Collection Chests are treasure chests that count as collectibles and from which you can get random wand handles or conjurations recipes that you can use in the Room of Requirement in Hogwarts Castle.
To get the South Hogwarts Region Collection Chests, you have to visit 2 hamlets, a Bandit Camp, and a dungeon.
As such, besides having to find the well-hidden collectibles, you’ll also have to fight some enemies and pick locks using the Alohomora spell learned while completing The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament main quest.

Hogwarts Legacy South Hogwarts Region Collection Chests Locations Map
First, make sure to look over the following South Hogwarts Region map because we’ve marked the location of the Collection Chests on it.
As you can see, most of the collectibles are grouped together and are located in the Lower Hogsfield and Aranshire hamlets, except one which you can find in a Bandit Camp.
To continue, we’ll talk about each Collection Chest following the order on our map.
Collection Chest #1: In The Water Next To A Upside-Down Cart
The first Hogwarts Region Collection Chest will take you to Lower Hogsfield, a hamlet south of Hogwarts Castle.
To reach the Chest, start from the hamlet’s Floo Flame and head southeast in the water to the upside-down cart, as shown in the next image.
Collection Chest #2: Next To A Red Carpet
For the second Hogwarts Legacy South Hogwarts Region Collection Chest, you have to enter the house west of the previous collectible.
However, to enter the house, you must first pick a level 1 lock using Alohomora.
Then, turn to your left immediately after going inside the house to find the Collection Chest next to a red carpet.
Collection Chest #3: On A Crate
South Hogwarts Region Collection Chest #3 is behind the house with the previous collectible.
Look for the Collection Chest on a crate next to the house’s wall.
Collection Chest #4: Besides A Bed
To find the next Collection Chest in the South Hogwarts Region, you must first travel to Aranshire, the small hamlet east of Hogwarts Castle.
Then enter the big house southeast of the hamlet’s Floo Flame.
You’ll need to use Alohomora again to pick another level 1 lock and gain access to the house.
The Collection Chest is beside the bed on the second floor.
Collection Chest #5: Near A Small Cage
Another Hogwarts Legacy South Hogwarts Region Collection Chest is found in the small building northeast of the house with collectible #4.
Once inside the building, you should see the Chest near a small cage.
Collection Chest #6: Next To A Hanger
Now go to the first house northwest of the building with the previous collectible.
Head inside the house and immediately turn right to find Collection Chest #6 next to a hanger.
Collection Chest #7: In A Garden
For the seventh South Hogwarts Region Collection Chest, head to the garden northwest of the house with collectible #6.
Look for a pile of boulders at the back of the garden and use a basic attack to clear them, revealing the next Chest.
If you have trouble locating the boulders, use Revelio to highlight them in blue.
Collection Chest #8: In Mary Portman’s Cellar
The eighth Hogwarts Legacy South Hogwarts Region Collection Chest is also in the Aranshire hamlet or, to be more precise, under it.
So, you’ll have to venture into Mary Portman’s Cellar dungeon to find the collectible.

Collection Chest #9: Under A Huge Wooden Structure
For the last Collection Chest in the South Hogwarts Region, you need to go to the Medium Bandit Camp east of Aranshire, at the ninth location pinpointed on our map.
Look for the collectible near some crates and barrels under the huge wooden structure in the northwestern part of the camp.
