Hogwarts Legacy Breaking Camp Goblin Encampment Locations

Breaking Camp is a side quest you can complete early in Hogwarts Legacy, the video game developed by Avalanche Software, while exploring the Hogsmeade Valley region. But, to reach the said region, you must complete the Welcome To Hogsmeade main story quest.

Then you must find the quest giver, Claire Beaumont, whose hamlet is frightened by Ranrok’s Loyalists. The worried NPC can be found in Upper Hogsfield, north of Hogsmeade. You have the exact location on the map below.

To make it to Claire easily, open your map, go over Upper Hogsfield with your cursor, select the Breaking Camp side mission, and press X on your PlayStation controller to set a waypoint.

Once in the hamlet, look for the woman at the stand with the big skeleton head, near the crowd surrounding the conductor magician. By the way, tip the man; he is killing it.

How to Clear the Goblin Encampments

As you can see, your objective is to clear two goblin encampments; to do so, you need to know where to find them. That is as easy as opening your map because the encampments should now be marked, like in the following screenshot.

First, head to the northern Camp and clear it. You’ll find no real danger here as the enemies are level 6 and, thus, easy to take down. Just don’t forget to use the Essential Spell Protego when attacked.

For Protego, you must press Triangle on your PlayStation controller. You do have to time it right, though. You can also use the Circle button to dodge attacks. The second, or southern Camp, can be a little trickier because you’ll have to fight an enemy with a red shield surrounding him.

To break his shield, you have to use a matching spell like Incendio. If you are asking yourself why Incendio matches the red shield, it is because of the spell icon’s color, which is red as well. Or, if you have at least one segment of your Ancient Magic meter full, press L1 + R1 while aiming at the shielded enemy for a devastating strike.

Upon clearing the second encampment of pesky goblins, you can return to Claire Beaumont in Upper Hogsfield and talk to her to get your Stag Skull Decoration reward for completing the Breaking Camp quest.
