Hogwarts Legacy The South Wing Collection Chests are collectibles you can obtain while exploring Hogwarts Castle or, to be more precise, the South Wing area.
The area features 5 Collection Chests, and to obtain all of them, you need to have the Alohomora, and Glacius spells unlocked.
Also, finding the Chests collectibles is really tricky if you don’t know where to look and precisely what you have to do.
As such, it may not be a bad idea to check the following Hogwarts Legacy The South Wing Collection Chests guide and learn how to obtain the collectibles.
Where To Find The South Wing In Hogwarts Castle
The South Wing area of Hogwarts Castle can be found by opening your map and selecting the flag in the top left part, as shown on the next map.
Then all you have to do is fast travel to one of the 4 Floo Flames in the area.
You can also make your way to the South Wing on foot if you don’t have any Floo Flame unlocked.
Now let’s talk about each South Wing Collection Chest.
Collection Chest #1: On A Table
For the first Hogwarts Legacy The South Wing Collection Chest, you have to go to the Clock Tower Courtyard Floo Flame, then head southeast without going down the stairs to reach a locked door with a unicorn symbol on it.
To open the door, you have to go in front of the southwestern gate that leads outside and turn toward the giant pendulum.
Next, you have to look up and use the Glacius spell on the pendulum to freeze it when it gets exactly in front of the unicorn symbol, the first from left to right.
Now the locked door from before can be opened, and you can go inside to find the first Collection Chest between a couple of candles on a table. You’ve also just solved a part of one of the 3 Hogwarts Secrets.
Collection Chests #2&3: Near Two Piles Of Pots
To get to the next two Hogwarts Legacy South Wing Collection Chests, you first have to use Alohomora to pick the level 1 lock of the door to the left, facing the gate leading outside.
Then go up the stairs until you reach the balcony, where you must head left and go through the door to the left.
Go up these stairs as well to reach the balcony above, where you can see the pendulum and the symbols at the same level as you.
If the pendulum is still frozen, cast Confringo on it to make it move again.
Now go to the door down the stairs on the northeastern part of the balcony and remember the symbol on it.
To open the door, you have to use Glacius on the pendulum again, but this time when it’s in front of the symbol you just saw on the previous door. The correct symbol is the second from right to left.
Head inside the newly accessible room to find the next two South Wing Collection Chests near two piles of pots.
Collection Chests #4: Under A Couple Of Bells
The fourth Collection Chest in the South Wing will take you to the Hospital Wing Floo Flame.
From the Floo Flame, you have to go down a floor using the stairs to the northwest.
Then go forward and go down another set of stairs. Proceed until you reach a window with a display case to the right.
Next to the display case, you have a door you must go through and reach a room with a fireplace.
Next, you must cast Glacius to put out the fire.
Now go through the fireplace and up the stairs to reach a secret room where you’ll see the fourth Hogwarts Legacy South Wing Collection Chest on a table under a couple of bells.
Also, on the small balcony to the left, you have one of the South Wing Field Guide Pages.
Collection Chests #5: In A Dark Room
For the last Collection Chest in the South Wing, first fast travel to the Faculty Tower Floo Flame.
Then head southwest, and go down the first set of stairs.
Turn left immediately after getting off the stairs to see a frog statue.
Go near the statue and interact with it by pressing the /
button on your PlayStation/Xbox controller.
Surprise, surprise, you get eaten by the frog and teleported to a dark room where you should cast Lumos to see what’s around you.
You should now be able to see the last collectible on a chest of drawers.
Well done! You’ve obtained all 5 Hogwarts Legacy The South Wing Collection Chests collectibles. However, don’t forget to check our Wiki Hub here for other useful guides and walkthroughs.
